Mr C
"Terricola"

Released 26.8.03
Cat No. END054

A - Terricola (Layo & Bushwacka! mix)
B - Terricola (Alpha Male mix)

Layo & Bushwacka! return to their original home for their only remix of the year a retro acid take on Mr Cs Terricola. The final single to be taken from his acclaimed debut album, 'Change', in its original form Terricola is a bass wracked electro charge through breaks and house. Layo & Bushwacka! have taken that dark electro menace and turned out a 4/4 peak time floor shaker. Crammed with 80s' games console FX, a mess of retro acid breakdowns and the originals twisted I WANT YOU! vocal this is the duos best remix work since their breakthrough take on Renegade Soundwave's The Phantom. On the flip End Recordings artists Alpha Male (aka French producers Tom Parris & Laurent Mauvais) take things in a more tech direction upping the BPM. The Layo & Bushwacka! mix is the first track to be taken from the duos forthcoming debut mix album. Released in October, All Night Long will feature the best of the duos remix work to date (Bebel Gilberto, Renegade Soundwave, Depeche Mode) alongside a series of exclusive edits (Sly Stone, Fast Eddie, Detroit Experiment), some exclusive L&B! studio productions and their personal highlights from their DJ sets over the last few years....

Matthew Dekay
"If I Could Fly"

Released 26.8.03
Cat No. DEEP014

A - If I Could Fly
B - If I Could Fly (Madoka's Flying Standby mix)

In the last year, Matthew Dekay has become one of the most talked about and respected artists in the industry. The original mix is an outstanding piece of work with tight well-programmed percussion, deep throbbing bass and rippling melodies which will literally have the hairs on your arms standing on end. It builds through the mix, constantly evolving and regenerating, as the track progresses to the main break. Think Natious' 'Amber' in a roundabout way and youll almost be on track. Lush melody lines and hooks with dubby delayed stabs build and build, then crash into a key changing massive big room number. Solid support from Chris Fortier, Sasha, Pako & Frederick, Sander Kleinenberg etc. Flipped by the Madoka mix, which is truly outstanding. Opting for a solidly intensifying mix, Mark uses parts from the original but includes a solid string line which will literally have them begging for more. Just watch when that key change in the B-line comes in. The track is licensed to 'Extrema 2003'.

"Perfecto presents Ultra Music Festival"

Released 26.8.03
Cat No. 90712

Summer time is party time and Tidy start off the preseedings with CD singles Volume Three for August. First up is 'Funky Groove'. This gem was known as one of the most ground breaking tracks of its time, introducing the 'Untidy' sound to the world. Not only this but it was widely known to be one of Judge Jules favourite tune of 97, he signed it to Manifesto Records and did one of his very rare solo remixes. The Kronos remix is the pick of the bunch for the harder heads, basically pumpin' up the original. Phat percussion and driving bass really push this along at great pace and it has already received support off acetate from Jules and Dave Pearce. Flash Harry delivers the more funky edged mix, using cool filtered disco loops but still keeping a harder feel than the original. Next up is MAQ, Never heard of them? Well no one has! This is the first release on Tidy by Champion Burns under their new guise. Both tracks on this double header are quality funky little numbers that are perfect for the lighter or more commercial floors. Attention is the slightly tougher track of the two but still staying in with the Champion Burns style. A massive swinging bassline keeps the track rumbling on nicely with cool vocal hooks. Very simple, very catchy and very effective.

1. Untidy Dubs Vol One - Funky Groove (Kronos remix)
2. Untidy Dubs Vol One - Funky Groove (Flash Harry remix)
3. MAQ - Attention
4. MAQ - Stop, Groove, Jump
