The Moon
"Shake It"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.BP01020612

Bass-heavy, floor-shaking, club music at its best! An already slammin track comes primed with a massive thumping monster of a remix from the infamous CJ Bolland! 'Shake it' was written and produced by Patrick Bruyndonx and Bjorn (DJ Ghost) Wendelen who also provides the vocals. Byte records fastened down the hatches and put out the Moons first big hit, namely 'Blow up the speakers', which was written and produced by Bjorn (DJ Ghost) Wendelen, Patrick Bruyndonx and Danny Van Wauwe. Not surprisingly the disc shot up the dance charts to the Number 1 spot and made a quantum leap into the Belgian singles charts, reaching Number 11. In the Benelux, Spain and Germany the disc was a thundering success and the follow up was equally devastating. 'Sushi' took pole position in the Belgian dance charts at Number 1 and held it against all invaders for more than 4 weeks. The magic of the mighty weight behind The Moon lies in the vast collective experience that the producers have between them. Bjorn (DJ Ghost) Wendelen was the driving force behind the renowned CM Trax, and Patrick Bruyndonx earned an international reputation for his Hatrix and Galliard productions.

Slackjaw
"Coming Back"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.BIN006

Slackjaw are a dance based group a.k.a. as Bug (formerly on Serious Records.) The group features the vocal talents of Danielle Gillieron with solid dancefloor production from the Freeloader boys whose remixes have recently featured on labels such as Renaissance, Hooj, Manifesto, Junior, Fuju and 3beat. The original mix is a building house groove that will fit into any set from any DJ. Techy in its nature and housey in its feel, the track is perfectly set by the vocals of Dani Gillieron. On the flip side Cube, recent signings to 3 Beat Music, supply a darker and deeper tribal affair. Cube consists of Tim Scott, Stephen Bent and vocalist Dani G. Tim & Steve have worked together and individually and have appeared on various labels from Junior to Toko under guises such as Kwirky, Nimrod, Element N and Freelaoder. Dani Gillieron has provided vocals for many of their own tracks, the most recent of which being the cool Glow. Their unique blend of house has found favour with the likes of Steve Lawler and Deep Dish. Deep Dish wanted to license this track for Yoshi Toshi - Sharam called the office on several occasions asking if it was available for world territories.

"Teknology"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.12HPOT20

Honey Pot sticks with its underground roots with artists such as Jon Doe, Roosta and Paul Glazby, but finds new popularity with DJs such as Judge Jules and Graham Gold, with new signings and remixers such as Lee James and The Crow. Lee James continues where he left off from his excellent After Life release, and delivers a UK trancer of great euphoric proportions. Spencer Freeland goes down the hard underground route, with a track that suits his Frantic and Tasty residencies perfectly. Spearheading the exciting UK hard trance sound, this 12 goes down the tuff euphoric route on one side and the hard underground route on the other. Expect some exciting tracks over the coming months, on the UK Hard Trance series.

The Southern Alliance
"Tranceform"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.HOTWAX021

Ben Kaye & Synergy follow up their smash on the label with another stormer. 'Tranceform' takes them down a trancey road with an uplifting riff as the track builds with fierce potential. It then breaks into a musical melody with a hard hoover but keeping the trancey elements. This is another high quality production which is sure to set dancefloors reaching for the lasers wherever it is played. On the flipside John Whitemann returns hot on the heels of his recent number for the label with a storming remix. This combines all the quality elements from the original as well as adding more giving it a slightly techy feel.

Deep Funk Project vs Austin Leeds
"Sub Ritual"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.ZOT12017

'Subritual' perhaps goes deeper than Zero Tolerance ever has before. Whilst on an extended vacation in Australia, US based Austin Leeds has teamed up with the dynamic duo Ivan Gough and Gab Olivier. 'Subritual' is a dark and grinding soundscape of house music with crisp percussion and a deadly bassline. The track drops into a spacious break before slamming back into its finale. On the flip side theres a Deep Funk remix that takes things deeper still. This is exactly what weve come to expect and love from Zero Tolerance. Ivan Gough and Gab Olivier have already released the two bombs 2 Heavy and Blackwitch/Blackphunk under their Deep Funk guise. Groovy and funky house is what its all about. They are one of Australias hottest production outfits and have found huge favour with the worlds biggest DJs from Tenaglia to Sasha, Cox to Tomiie

Donald & Giles
"The Creator"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.LQ027

The Creator is the first single release under the name of Donald & Giles, although D & G were also responsible for the main mixes of the Nightlife and Symphony of Strings releases on Liquid. Both records received massive support from trance DJs all over the world such as Judge Jules (played both records on BBC radio for weeks), Johan Gielen, Blank & Jones, Graham Gold, Scott Bond, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, DJ Tatana, Tilmann Uhrmacher and lots more.

Dual feat Candyman
"Psycho Friend"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.MECH010

Mechanism presents the first of a few tracks signed from our Eastern European friends in Hungary. Since signing the track a three way effort has been made to push this release, the track has also been licensed to Play recordings and they have produced two fine mixes from 2Sinners & Cabasa, due for release in May. Planetarium will also release the track in its original form along with a remix. Jas (aka Chonga) has caused a stir since breaking onto the scene last summer with his Carnival EP on Saw. Phil Jason hails from NYC and has also had tracks out on Plastic Fantastic and Mechanism. He has projects forthcoming on labels such as Saw and Renaissance. Ortus is Lewis Hopkin from Airgap records in Devon. Having also signed tracks to Yoshitoshi, his deep, underground grooves have found favour with all the top Progressive DJs. The A side: 'JAS REMIX' is a full vocal mix which brings together all the elements associated with Jas: tribal grooves and dark moods set the tone for this awesome mix. The arrangement cleverly uses snippets of the vocals to make loops whilst the pads continue to bring the mood of the track up. In all, the track has quite a housey feel, not as dark as you may have expected from Jas. With its solid production and interesting vocal we expect a dancefloor response to cross right over. The AA side: 'ORTUS DUB MIX' is a deep, dark, driving progressive monster. Ortus has been moving away from his deeper grooves recently and this is an example of the net result. Peak-time mayhem is the order of the day: wicked moody stabs and a rock solid bassline-driven groove drive this track forward. As you might expect the production is top notch.

E Craig
"Thanx We Get"

Cat No.ANODYNE11

Follow up to the excellent Addicitons which was the 2nd release on Anodyne, Quasistereo is Ricky Montanari, David Ruberto and Cirrilo, with vocals from Arlene Carol Leis. Acclerator fits in with the cool new Italian sound currently bubbling under the surface. A stripped down throbbing production with mechanical relentless vocals.

Red Moon
"Beautiful"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.SS012

The essence of the Red Moon sound is the layering of gritty percussion to create perfect organic rhythms that draw you in, spin you round, hypnotize you, and gently let you down when it's all over. Red Moon is all about the journey, as depth and space divide the sparse instrumentation and twisted fx that ebb and flow through the mix. The intermittent use of vocals deepens the whole experience, while adding both spice and texture to everything. It's a formula that makes the whole listening experience that is 'Beautiful', exotically enthralling and wondrous. Call it tech house or whatever you want, Red Moon are one funk-fuelled fireball just waiting to explode worldwide. DJ Hal turns in a sublime more housed up mix, which sends shivers down your spine. Truly beautiful. However, once again, its Man of the moment Tony Thomas who steals the show. Tonys mix gets the true treatment: Funk fuelled, dirty and defiantly rocking the mix is aimed at the harder/darker/cooler dance floors of club land. Tony has reached sales in excess of 10,000 per release and is one of the most in demand and prolific producers in the UK. Red Moon deliver the goods again.

On the second side, Justin Bourne reworks a hard house interpretation that retains the essential melodies from the 'A' side, while Vince Nysse completes the package, adding a dark and dirty twist to proceedings in a driving, bass heavy groover. Sean Q6
"Of Course"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.BEDMII01

Bedrock Records releases the first of 2 samplers from John Digweed's acclaimed 'MMII' album. Sean Cusick (appearing here as Q6) delivers an eclectic affair in the form of his latest track 'Of Course'. This is not Cusick's first association with Bedrock, having appeared as one half of Freelance Icebreakers alongside Jimmy Van M on Bedrock's 'Voices' track. Now with a remix from sometime production partner, Phillip Charles, Bedrock is proud to be able to release one of the much sought after tracks from 'MMII' in the form of this special sampler. 'Of Course' is released as a sampler from the album. A driving cut at the forefront of house music, Cusick's risk taking and desire to push himself at the forefront of a new sound hurls itself to the fore. Beats roll in and out on a percussive roller coaster as blurred radio messages and fragmented vocals cut in and out over the top of it all, lost whilst thrown across space. Like names such as Chris Fortier, Three and Jimmy Van M, Sean Cusick is one of the prime movers in the success and rise in progressive house in the US. Having come to the fore on line-ups alongside Sasha, John Digweed, Josh Wink, and Nick Warren amongst others, Sean was instrumental in the success of New York club, Twilo along with Sasha and John Digweed and hails from the hot bed of talent and musical fervour that is America's East Coast. He's been seen on Bedrock before as one half of Freelance Icebreakers with Jimmy Van M, but more recent production work has seen associations with Three for Hallucination Records and projects for Saw Recordings with Medway. Phillip Charles injects the groove back into Cusick's minimal original mix with a truly funky reinterpretation of 'Of Course'. A huge throbbing base is layered with the space samples and distorted radio communications to create a dark and twisted cut which takes you on a journey in itself, from unceremonious beginnings to dance floor fervour in its 7 minutes! Through breakdowns, and throbbing, driving grooves, Charles has created a cut for peak time revellry at its finest. A worthy companion to Sean Cusick's minimal tripped out original.

Dano, Chus & Ceballos
"Deep Architecture"

Released 27.8.02
Cat No.VIS077

Deep Architecture sees the debut release on 20:20 Vision from a unique combination of producers. With a mere 6000 miles apart from their respective homes of San Fran and Madrid, Dano has managed to team up with Spanish-based partners DJ Chus and Ceballos to produce Deep Architecture. After producing the summer scorcher, 'From Madrid With Love', with Penn last year DJ Chus and partner Ceballos continue the trans-Atlantic connection with Red Melon by this time teaming up with the man himself, Dano. The result is a fresh sound encompassing the superb percussion based production skills of Chus and Ceballos with the West coast tripped out keys that we have come to expect of Dano. This project follows in the same mould, perhaps with a tougher edge and even better production. DJ Chus is best known as resident DJ at the world famous Kapital club in Madrid, having been there since 1994. He also resided at the excellent Kadoc club in Portugal during its best years. This summer he is resident at Privilege, Ibiza for the Stereo Sessions and has also played at Pacha and Space. As a producer he created a new sound since 2001 with Ceballos creating celebrated tracks for Moody, Fluential and Bluem as well as the massive El Amor with Joeski last year. He has also just finished a mix CD for Defected records highlighting the 'Iberican Sound'. His partner Ceballos is from Madrid and started life in the world of techno before bringing his harder tribal edge to their production sound. Dano is San Frans favourite tech-house star, currently holding a residency at Spundaes Nikita club which has just been voted best club in America. He started working in the studio with Tony Hewitt from Funky Techno Tribe in 1997 and has since joined forces with Joeski, Onionz and Doc Martin on releases for the likes of NRK, Junior, Moody and Greyhound.
