Simon Noble & Bill Hamel pres. Mezz

Cat No.SKR022

Bill has recently remixed Lambs amazing 'Gorecki', which caused a stir on both sides of the Atlantic with Pete Tong featuring it heavily on his show. As far as remixes are concerned, the in demand Xzique boys go on their most tribal excursion yet with a relentless groove that builds towards a frenzied break and US deep maestros Sphere, go to work on the flip side, keeping things moody and dark. Vocal samples throughout add to the overall atmosphere of the track. The Xzique remix is getting rotation from the usual suspects including Steve Lawler and the Sphere remix has been played by John Digweed on his Kiss show on 3 different occasions.

Paul Johnson
"Good Times"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.MDR9653

'Go Crazy' is an old school tracky number in a sort of an old relief vein with organic tones played over a riding tracky rhythm. 'Good Time' has a get get down feel with Paul once again on vocals with this soon to be house anthem. 'Woman Masturbate Too' takes on another moaning and groaning abroad. Paul Johnson is well known all over the world with his huge release 'Get Get Down' on Moody recordings that sold over half a million copies. Paul is one of the pioneers for the early Chicago ghetto house trax movement which became a world phenomenon and has released numerous records on some of the worlds finest labels.

Each of the seven previously released tracks on the album received fantastic reviews from DJs and magazines alike and all of the tracks on the accompanying album vinyl are strong. They have been carefully selected to compliment each other, with a hard trancer on one side and something a little different on the other on a rave tip or funky hard house.

Allen & Healey
"Buzzing"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.AUTO29

Allen & Healey are Mark Allen and Tim 'Electric Tease' Healey .Buzzing is a progressive trance epic driven by an 'Age Of Love' style bassline and coupled with an eerie synth line. Sultry female vocals end the intro which is followed by the bassline kicking in and kicking off. Drug Music is (as the title suggests) a druggy piece of music and it's evident in the track from the off, with it being filtered and fucked with from an incomprehensible sound until it becomes crystal clear. Then the track kicks off in a nice 'heads down, stomping' style! Percussive tricks & a one off time-stretched vocal add a little spice to the track.

Ashley Beedle Drug Music is big for X-Press 2
Futureshock Good pitched down, it's the B-Side
Tim Lennox Playing on Galaxy weekender and charted the last two weeks
Nick Warren In the box
Danny Howells Love It. Very big on the dancefloor

BK & Anne Savage
"Instantly / Junglize"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.NUKP0385

When two of the top 50 most popular DJs in the world get together to record its always going to be a very special project. BK and Anne Savage have taken their knowledge of the best dancefloors in the world and transformed it into a two track release thatll equally go down a storm at the mega Slinky as it would at the underground riot! Instantly is a peak-time stormer that incorporates massive trance riffage with BKs trademark driving hard house groove. On the flip, Junglize is a pumping tribal number that fuses hypnotic techno grooves with a chunky house vibe thats appealing to all.

Champion Burns
"Filtered Funk Vol.4"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.NUKP0402

The saga continues as Southends funky squad deliver the fourth instalment in their filtered funk series. Having blazed a trail with the first three, its showtime once again as the duo seek to capitalise on support from players such as Eric Morillo, Judge Jules and Alan Thompson! The first instalment of this twisted mayhem sank its teeth into Judge Jules earlobe and jus wouldnt let go! A tried & tested record on his show and spins for 5 weeks running meant that the nation now knows the power of the yellow Nukleuz funk.

Defective Audio
"Last Orders / Skyline"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.TIDY168T

Defective Audio is a new name, never seen on the Tidy release sheet until now and Dom Sweeten (Satellite Kidz / OD404) has not disappointed his fans with a cool double helping of cold and calculated hard house. On the A side we have 'Last Orders', a gargantuan blend of floor shaking kicks, rasping percussion, bizarre and quirky vocals and evil filtered stabs that have seen early support from the likes of Glazby and Ian M. However, on the flip we have a nice contrast with Skyline, which is slightly leaning towards the trancier side of things making this a cool workout in anyones books.

RR Fierce
"Yamamba"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.VCR010X

The late great RR Fierce (who sadly passed away in December of last year) teamed up with Australian DJ K-Live for this track. Few artists have managed to capture the real essence of hard dance quite like RR Fierce. This is probably one of the hardest tracks around: its full steam ahead from the very beginning and definitely one for the harder floors. The twisted riff and memorable vocals ensure that everyone sits up and takes notice of this monster of a track. Jez & Charlie (flipside remix) would appear to be at the start of a promising production career, if this track is anything to go by. This driving little number takes noticeable influence from the OD404 sound and the fact that it can fit into almost anybodys set has seen this track doing damage for months on acetate. The groove of the track is excellent but its the uplifting trance riff that finishes it off perfectly.

"Yamamba just works cause its so f***in hard" Andy Farley
"This is one of the best tracks Ive heard this year" Nick Sentience

Ilogik
"Check This Out"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.EM012

'Check This Out' is a hard trance affair that manages to retain Ilogik's distinctive sound. It crashes along until the lead riff appears, taking you to a new uplifting level with an effected riff sweeping you off your feet. It kicks back in and steams off at pace again before lulling towards the end and gradually stoping at halt. On the flip, 'Explode' does exactly what it says in the tin. This is a darker affair with a techno feel to it. Keeping all the Ilogik elements that are hard and combining this dark sound helps to provide a track for the more discerning listener. Ilogik shows he can cater for all in this neat little package and is a point well made and supported by Ministry Mag making it tune of the month.

Morton Fresh
"The Fresh Maker EP"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.BBR005

This techy 2-tracker produced by Danish bass head Morten Fresh is heavily influenced by the soundz of Chicago and captures the true underground spirit where a track is a track and its made to be played LOUD! When Morten began studying he had took a semester in Chicago: I simply couldnt resist playing there and soon I had a weekly radio show on the campus radio and played private parties for my friends. After a short stint with hip-hop he started to work on three decks, Little Louie Vega being his prime influence: Hip Hop was good for me cause it taught me to stay in contact with the decks Morten says : But I needed something more soulful without loosing the booty factor! This is not the first production Morten has been able to get good results on: Its been a year since I started tracking and one of the first thing I did was a remix of Laurent Garniers Greed for a competition on his web site and much to my surprise it was amongst the 20 mixes Laurent Garnier choose to be the best. Since then Ive tried out some different approaches and the two tracks here are the first to be released under my own name.

Good Pedestrians
"That Moment"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.19BOX009

19 Box Recordings always focuses on one original track with a named remixer brought in to raise the profile of the package. On the A side Marino Berardi goes all techy whilst creating a soft melodic feel with the use of some beautiful pads and strings. A mix thats sure to find favour with the likes of Terry Francis and Craig Richards as well as the usual progressive suspects. 'Turn Down' on the AA side is an entirely different beast altogether. Hard and angry, it just doesnt let up from start to finish. A real peak-time high octane crowd pleaser.

Austin Leeds
"Elevation"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.UNC12014

Austin Leeds is one of Americas finest underground house producers. He has already released various tracks in the US on Bliss, in the UK on Bedrock and Choo Choo and has tracks coming up on Mechanism. Here, he checks in with a tuff slab of deep, dark progressive house, with twisted beats and gliding synths. Perfect for the dancefloor.

12" Thumpers
"The Bouncer"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.THM038

As some of you may already be aware, the Thumper boys have recently returned from a tour of Oz, playing out at the Gatecrasher Summer Sound System. The Bouncer, not to be confused with the old school Kicks Like a Mule anthem, is set to be an ass-kicking assault on the sweat fuelled dance floors of the UKs hardest nights out. The bassline throbs and tickles with depth and power over some turbine beats and stabs, and a fully loaded vocal pounces in and out of the track to bring you to a hectic but storming breakdown. The Melbourne Shuffle is a furious tribute the up-for-it crowds who were fortunate enough to rock along to the storming sets played out in Oz. Its the sort of track that you cant help but lose yourself to, and will no doubt leave clubbers looking like an escapee from a secure mental ward after getting the maximum benefit of its mind twisting sirens and horns. The breakdown is dark and submissive and equally euphoric, the bass is heavy and frighteningly addictive.

Tigerhook Corp.
"The THC EP"
Released 18.03.02
Cat No.SAW007

Philadelphia natives, Tigerhook Corp. unveil their latest and best offering to date. This truly one of a kind record consists of tracks from several different producers and writers who unite to form the Tigerhook Corp. With a recent release on End recordings and Hooj Choons, the members have already built themselves quite a name, but here on Saw, they deliver three all unique, must-have tracks. The A side BLUE LIGHTS. This track is a truly haunting experience. Its dark steady pacing enthralls the crowd, teasing them to no end. A definite Digweed tune! On the B-side are two tracks. The outer cut KEYS TO LIFE. A beautiful melodic track dashed with an essence of Detroit flava. This tune is bound to wind up a late night anthem. Its slow tempo and blissful melodies arise tears in all. Lurking on the inside cut is a ferocious club monster HEAVY ROTATION. Fierce live percussion, eerie tripped out sounds and a mind-boggling, body thumping baseline make this track a single by itself.
