The Aircrash Bureau "Make Me Wanna" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. VSUAL005
A - Make Me Wanna
B - Make Me Wanna (Electric Tease mix)
What a mental tune! Pounding trademark beats, top notch production and that wicked male vocal which pops in over the main break. Add in the crazy half tempo breakdown, which is plain and simply mental, but god damn it works on the floor.. Just ask Steve Gerrard, Nicka, Parks N Wilson and Andy Jarrod - its being doing serious damage on the floor for these and more. Flip it for a wicked mix from Electric Tease, an oddball quirky number which will grow on you like a rash. A crazy, wibbly wobbly lead riff is the backbone of the track, building up and up through a series of short breaks and onto the finish.

Coldhouse V2 "Near C" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. MECH017
A - Near C
B - Solaress
'Near C' is a quality production of deep, tech house influenced grooves. The track rolls along with a lovely dreamy pad holding the vibe as the funky drum lines layer up. The bassline pushes the track along its techy journey with pretty synth stabs punctuating the groove of the track. Vocal samples echo into the mix as the track drops into its breakdowns before the groove returns with its edgy twisted vibe. Sharp high end percussion is well used to lift the track along as is the clever use of a couple of great sounding bongo loopsoh so groovy. 'Solaress' is a beautiful deep house journey, ideal for those early evening sets or for just sitting back and enjoying. Very nicely produced, this atmospheric little number is all about lovely soft pads and melodic synth lines with their floaty reverbs. Thought provoking harmonies and teasing subtle drum patterns are well used throughout the composition as it grooves effortlessly along its path, the breakdown is like the tune, effortless and chilled.

Electric Tease "Limbo" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. AUTO40
A - Limbo
B - Limbo (Metta & JT Love's remix)
'Limbo' sees Tim Healey (Electric Tease) present a funked-up house groove unlike any of his previous releases. A wobbly wah wah synth line is teased in with killer filtering techniques whilst a swinging rhythm provides the groove from the off. A vocal sample from the worlds greatest gangster TV series is cleverly filtered in towards the end of the intro before being unleashed cleanly and fully as a pre-empt for a killer bassline to explode the track into peaktime groove mode. The vocal later features in the breakdown sections before the funk explodes again. The remix on the flip is an entirely different affair and comes from rising house music stars, Metta & JT Love. The Leeds-based duo have just signed to the legendary 2020 vision label and have releases pending on Spincycles Geek Records with support from the likes of Matthew Bushwacka B and Fabric resident, Craig Richards. This remix features a beautiful Detroit techno B-line and skippy percussion accompanied by what can only be described as 'digital glitch' style sounds but rest assured we mean glitch in a good way!!
Another Quality track! - Seb Fontaine on Radio 1
Peaktime chunky house. Should see everyone spinning this... - Vinyl Addiction Buzz Chart

Fred Everything "Over You" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. VIS085
A - Over You (Monday vocal mix)
B1 - Over You (Sunday dub mix)
B2 - Here (Now)
After the much acclaimed Light of Day sung by Rise Ashen, Fred returns with another classic vocal collaboration on Over You, this time with Sydney-born singer Gina Mitchell. Fred hooked up with Gina in her home town during his extensive Australian tour last Christmas. Peter Gibson joins Fred for the second time on Here (Now) to play live Rhodes. The pair first worked together on Freds remix of Roy Davis Watch Them Come (Bombay), which was released in 2001. 'Over You' is a beautiful, deep, soulful, classic Fred production and should appeal to fans of Naked Music, Om, Seasons etc. So dont expect a huge diva led pumping house anthem, expect sweeping, soothing synth lines and sultry, relaxed vocals riding over the funky analogue bassline. The dub mix continues in this vein, with crisper, bumpier beats. Cutting the vocals in and out the mix creating a very useable DJ tool. Closing the EP is 'Here (Now)', a hypnotic, jazzy, bubbling little gem of a track featuring live Rhodes that has already found its way into the sets of Ralph Lawson, Tula, Chris Duckenfield and David Duriez from the limited test pressing mailout.

Jo Jo "Counting On Your Love" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. SUGAR1
A - Counting On Your Love (Club mix)
B - Counting On Your Love (JS10 mix)
Dont be fooled in thinking that Jo Jo is a solo artist. It is in fact a name given to this superb project by the two producers behind it one (who is mysteriously remaining anonymous) and the other who goes by the name of Yertari. Both guys are no stranger to the dance scene as they have both individually contributed towards some of the biggest club anthems around. These include tracks for Paul Oakenfolds Perfecto label, original dance tracks for Flammable Records and also numerous remixes, one of which was for Emmes Wont Let You Down on DeCode Records. The guys forged their partnership last July when a chance meeting brought them together. After a bit of time in the studio, Mr Anonymous then penned the lyrics to Counting On Your Love and enlisted the vocal talents of a certain Jodie Adamson to give that final bit of input. The outcome is this truly massive peaktime anthem which has been exploding in clubland on promo. First up on this 12 youll find the main club mix. HUGE riffs and top notch production are the order of the day here. Jodies vocals are used to perfection resulting in one hell of a peak time mix. Alternatively, head for the JS10 mix who are fresh from the success of their track Nemisis on 3AM which was massively championed by Dave Pearce. Here they deliver a slightly harder edged mix with less vocals. Jumping up 14 places in its first week in the Music Week Pop chart and 24 places in the same publications club chart gives a good indication that this record is set to be MASSIVE!

Jon Langford "Confess" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. 12CHARGE013
A - Confess
B - Confess (Justin Bourne remix)
Jon Langford is, of course, no stranger to the hard dance scene, being one half of the legendary Knuckleheadz production duo, although Confess is his first ever solo outing. The tough beats and soaring synths put it in the same class as 'Prime Mover' - roof raising hard dance. Check out the vocals that will have trainspotters running for the DJ box and sinful clubbers heading for the confession box. Following the huge success of his recent 'Corruption' single on Recharge (licensed onto Lisa Lashes best selling Extreme Euphoria compilation), Justin Bourne delivers the goods in a pumped up remake for the harder floors. Already causing a stir amongst the tastemaker hard dance DJs, and with a Single of the Month in the bag from Muzik, and a Top 5 of the month from Mixmag, this looks set to be another massive release for Recharge.
Justins mix is going down a treat. Really like this recharge release, one for the original hardhousers.. keep em coming. - Ilogik
Justin's remix is spot on, played it at Insomniaczs on Sunday night, went down very well!!! - Paul Glazby

Toby Neal "Ivy Street EP" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. HUSSY018
A - Fricaseee
B1 - Bubblostack
B2 - Mashed
After a lengthy absence on Hussle, since his 'Watching You' EP, Toby Neal returns with a sublime 3 tracker that's picking up some very tasty support. 'Fricasse' is sexy house track with a jazzy sax and funky 'wah-wah' guitar licks, all the time keeping a tough groove throughout. Pure heaven. 'Bubblostack' is a deeper, more driving affair with its moody, rolling bassline and a real dirty groove, whilst 'Mashed' is something altogether more funky.

No Religion "Tongue Ride EP" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. SOG017
A1 - Tongue Ride (DJ Pow Low Guitar mix)
A2 - Soul Pilot (DJ Pow Low & Greed remix)
B1 - Tongue Ride (DJ Pow Low remix)
B2 - Force Me To Reality (Absolut remix)
No Religion are the Swiss equivalent of Slayer, but who surprisingly really like house music and more to the point, house remixes of their tracks! Here, Switzerlands bad ass metal-tech house band deliver their 'Tongue Ride E.P', following on from the massive SOG013, 'The Bridge' featuring Gwendolyn. Remixes come courtesy of DJ Pow Low, Greed and Andre Absolut. The A one track is a flippin mental thrash guitar number, which utilises the twisted vocal on the tip of my tongue to maximum effect, spiralling up and up with some seriously heavy drums. Second mix comes courtesy of Pow Low versus label boss Greed, a wicked Sander Kleinenbergesque synth-laden monster, which is guaranteed to work well on the floor. Pow Lows guitarless mix is up next on the B1, still utilising the vocal and maintaining the wicked vibe on the A1. Finally is Absoults remix of 'Force Me To Reality', a mammoth tribal progressive hybrid which will rock your world. DJ Pow Low and Absolut are certified top drawer producers and remixers, having had numerous successful hits over the past number of years. Greed has become a household name for house and prog fans alike, having produced and remixed over 30 classic tracks in the past few years, all of which will remain the staple diet of DJs for years to come.

Here Deep Records deliver yet another ground breaking release, already supported on TP by Bedrock resident Jonathan Lisle and by Steve Smart and John Digweed on Kiss 100FM. Jon Rundell & Sam Reeve "Bang" Released 31.3.03 Cat No. RETEK004
A - These Days
B - These Days (Paul Maddox mix)
The Retek label makes a triumphant return following the runaway success of Sam Reeve & Jon Rundell's 'Africaine', a track that won widespread support from leading DJs right across the dance scene, including Radio 1 plays by Fergie. 'Bang' is a tribal and funky hard groover that's been doing the business for Nick Sentience on CD-R, prompting a flurry of phone calls to our office from DJs after a copy of the next Retek release. Having already featured the talents of Paul Glazby, Nick Sentience and OD404, Retek once again delve into the top draw with a mix of experimental epic proportions from man of the moment Paul Maddox adding a different slant to the original with a new inimitable style, pushing several musical boundaries in one swoop.
Having re-written the rule book with their debut 'Africaine', a track that made the fledgling Retek label the most talked about hard dance imprint on the planet, it was always going to be interesting to see just what these two future heroes came up with next. 'Bang' is infused with equal measures of hardhouse and techno but it's the extra helping of funk that makes this one of the most exciting tracks of the year for me. Add a side order of production from that man Maddox on remix duties and this release is on fire. The fact that both sides are distinct but not obvious means that it's not gonna be one of those records that can get over-exposed and in that respect it'll be at the front of my bag for a long time that's for certain. - M8/M8 Ed Real
Retek is currently one of my favourite labels, it's fresh and exciting - Nick Sentience (Cream Interview)
