Nick Denton "Bonkas" Released 24.2.03 Cat No. THM055
A - Bonkas
B - To The Beat
12 Inch Thumpers have welcomed Nik Denton to their already huge talent base with this, his first release under the skull and cross-bones. 2 The Beat is an uplifting track with many-a-popular sample revamped and blended to produce a sure-fire winner. The track is not what you might class as a traditional bouncy hard house track, since the bassline is not that familiar 'pong'. However, the samples chosen throughout this track give it a bounce of its own. It has a build in the middle that is going to lift the roof of every venue in clubland, so be sure its in your box. Bonkas is a tougher tune than 2 the Beat with a ticking bass that gives this track its drive. The mid riff would fool you into believing that this track might be a quite deep affair but tasty hoover stabs quickly return you to the hard house fold. With these two tracks Denton has unleashed his own brand of south coast hard house on Thumpers, which has undoubtedly added an extra string to their already solid bow.

DJ Asle "Number One" Released 24.2.03 Cat No. HK069
A - Number One (Breaks mix)
B - Number One
After a period of collaborating with Thomas Degn, under the project names AlterNative and The Untamed and following his acclaimed UG records debut here in the UK last year, DJ Asle has spent the last two years developing his own style of "tight, funky and pumping house". His production talents have previously received support from the likes of Sasha, Nick Warren, Paul Oakenfold, Sander Kleinenberg, Digweed, Judge Jules, Paul van Dyk and Jerry Bonham, and the Dane has already featured on record labels like Brother Brown, Oven Ready and Bigstar. The A-side features the forward-thinking breakbeat mix: a late-night groover that unfurls into a mesmerising blend of growling bass and oriental-tinged beats, and the catchy vocal hook, that subsequently christened the track. Flip onto the AA for the almost psychedelic original mix, a more tribal-tinged epic.

Insider "Unification" Released 24.2.03 Cat No. SIN005
A - Unification
B - Unification (Stupid Youth mix)
'Unification' is a tough slice of Cosmic Gate style trance that's already seen support from Judge Jules, who has been supporting the label since its first release. Insider provided the remix on the last Safety release 'E-Ject - The Pressure' which won Juless web chart competition and got played a total of 5 times on Radio One. Insider also goes under the name of Morb and is probably best know for the massive Fergie anthem 'Tornado' and from his remix of Jurgen Vries' 'Opera Song' which Jules dropped at midnight live on Radio One NYE. The Stupid Youth mix on the flip adds a more driving interpretation which uses the Zombie Nation style riff to great effect.

DJ Snowman "And Then They Start To Dance" Released 24.2.03 Cat No. RECOVER020X
A - And Then They Start To Dance (Wavestorm remix)
B - And Then They Start To Dance (Dumonde remix)
Recover favourite Wavestorm gets things started with his most ferocious mix yet, stripping back the melodies from the original to the bare minimum for a full on aural assault. This is already the mix of choice for the likes of Lisa Lashes, Tom Harding and Colin Tevendale off TP, with I-DJ Magazine saying the Wavestorm remix is the one you should track down as its an absolute monster. (Jan 03) On the flipside is the first remix on Recover by the mighty DuMonde, a.k.a. Jam X and DeLeon. This mix has topped the charts of everybody from Judge Jules to Fergie, with the latter giving it back to back plays on BBC Radio 1. DJ Magazine described it as a hard trance anthem in the making., and Danny Slade (I-DJ) a totally awesome record. The support seems to be unanimous. The only thing to decide for most is which of the stunning remixes to play! I-DJ Magazine said, "Recover really are on a roll at the moment and I have a feeling that this is the track that will truly herald their arrival at the top of the scenean absolute monster."
