12" Thumpers
"Change To This"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.THM053

Following the success of the original, the Thumpers crew decided Change To This was worthy of their first remix since reaching the big 50. Doing the honours this time is the irrepressible Samuel E Reeve, the ever-consistent Mobi-D and the fresh sound of Vinyl Coup. The Samuel E Reeve remix is a heavy track that booms its way through your head before taking off with wicked breaks and an old-skool riff to die for. Rather than being oppressive, Mr Reeve has managed to brilliantly retain the energy he is known for which drives this tasty remix from start to finish. The Vinyl Coup remix is a bouncier remix than Mr Reeves, which manages to capture the party vibe with this up-tempo version. The bassline is the marker for this remix. The lead synths add excitement and further hair-raising to the whole track to polish off an awesome choon. Back on remix duty for Thumpers, Mobi-Ds offering features a slightly darker edge with a hard-but-bouncy bassline. The evil synths and vocal dance around the mix before a rather cheeky classic rears its head. This remix is an all-out stomper with hands-in-the air quality for old times sake. With these three remixes, anyone who says this record is not their bag shouldnt have a bag at all!

Carbine
"House Your Body"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.SUF61

Chris Liberator and the geezer ride out once again and bring a new twist to the alias Carbine. This time we have two 'up for it' acid techno servos blasting us into the new year. On the front side 'House Your Booty' is a call to the dance floor of avin it. A tough and burning groove works up the sweat while the old-skool vocal hook bounces around your head and then drops for a full on assault on your feet. On the b another old-skool classic gets an acid techno service. Another ode to the glory days of hip hop set over a trousers shaking acid riff.

Committee
"Welcome"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.TIDY182T

"MMMmmmCommittee", I hear you askWell this little gem was pioneered by the late, great Tony De Vit back in the day and featured on a number of his compilations from Trade Vol 3 to Live in Tel Aviv. Since then the track has been sat gathering dust in Spain of all places until Tidy unearthed it to yet again deliver a slice of classic hard house to the new kids of the harder generation. After a well-earned rest here is a man who was not only a major influence in the hard house scene but also a man who shaped the sound of Tidy in the very beginning. Remixer Paul Janes is a household name and he delivers a mix worthy of todays dance floors. All pumped up with a huge production, this mix has already won friends like Paul Glazby, Andy Farley, Ian M and Lisa Lashes, who has put this gem on her new 'Extreme Euphoria 2' album. On the flip the Mad Dog, Paul Maddox himself delivers a cool techy mix under his new guise O.G.R, which should gain support from radio and the funkier DJs. This mix again is of top quality and confirms Paul as a star of the future.

Cosmic Gate
"The Wave"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.NEBT036 NEBTX036 / NEBCD036

Nebula is possibly the UKs premier trance label - the home of international trance and tech trance from Tiësto, 4 Strings and Cosmic Gate to Armin, Lange, La Luna and Vanguard. Cosmic Gate are veterans of the hard trance scene. Hailing from Germany they have a massive international reputation and fan base. Famed for their uplifting hard productions, Cosmic Gate have remixed everyone from Tiësto to Airwave. Cosmic Gate have had UK Top 10 and Top 20 hits with 'Fire Wire' and 'Exploration Of Space'. This new outing is a double a-side of exclusive new tracks and remixes taken from the Cosmic Gate album 'No More Sleep'. 'The Wave' is a slamming instrumental trance track with a sampled vocal. 'Raging (Storm)' sees Cosmic Gate team up with Jan Johnston for a full vocal work out. Jan is a very well known trance vocalist having recorded tracks for Perfecto among other labels. Svenson & Gielen need little introduction and provide the Dutch trance angle with a tough and riffy re-interpretation of 'The Wave'. Relative new boys Flutlicht (or floodlight to us) from the Drizzly stable re-work 'Raging (Storm)', fitting Jan Johnstons vocals over a tough and funky trance remix.

Chris Cowie
"Nostra"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.BL058

Pure Genius - Danny Tenaglia
Sex on a Slate- Muzik Magazine
Smooth as Silk - DJ Magazine
Excellent - Seb Fontaine
Eminently accessable and extremely listenable - Jockey Slut
Underground music of the highest quality - Front magazine
A criminally ignored producer at the height of his powers - Etronik
It's because of you I sound so good - Danny Tenaglia

A few of the quotes used to describe Chris Cowies music. This release is a little different from the expected dancefloor gear on Bellboy, returning towards the more esoteric releases the label has dropped over the years. As Thomas H Green (Muzik) said "you never know what to expect from Bellboy". Here Chris continues his assault on the senses with the organically driven Essential mix featured and genre defying 'Nostra' (in both original and vocal versions.) Using real guitar, piano etc. Chris pushes the boundries a bit further with this release while keeping the expected dancefloor action on the aa with 'Desker'.

Future Acoustics
"Keep Keepin' On"

'Keep Keepin On' is our 3rd release from James Murphy and Pete Gleadall (Tom Stephans engineer and Pet Shop Boys programmer) and is causing a stir worldwide. Satoshi Tomiie - Dub is my choice. Very cool! 8/10

Green Velvet
"La La Land"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.HUSSY016

Chicago's Green Velvet released this track early in 2002 to wide acclaim. Since then, Hussle Recordings have picked up this single and album project. Exclusive new Australian mixes have since been commissioned by the Australian label to impressive result. Australia's Number 1 DJ, Kid Kenobi, collaborates with Poxy Music (aka Thunk's Pocket and DJ Ken Cloud) to provide a monster breakbeat mix that puts any Plump DJs' record to shame. The mix has already received amazing feedback from Skool of Thought, Tayo, Krafty Kuts and Ali B. The second interpretation comes from Sydney techno DJ Biz-E, delivering a hot new 80s influenced electro-clash mix that has been heralded by Green Velvet himself. And finally Junkbeats from Byron Bay, currently locked in the studio co-producing Halo & Hipp-e's upcoming artist album, has found time to produce a dark, moody tech house mix of La La Land, with a disctinct west coast edge. This one will cross over and be a favourite with the prog mafia, Junkbeat's last EP being thrashed by Hernan Caneteo, Lexicon Avenue and others.

JDS
"Punk Or Funk"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.RHYSYN023R

Another stellar release from Rhythm Syndicate. One in a long line of quality releases to come in 2003, RSR, the label synonymous with Rowan Blade, makes another splash with 'Punk Or Funk' remixes by JDS, following the massive success of the original 'Punk Or Funk', earlier in the year. JDS need little introduction. In their 5th year of making musical history, these two well respected DJ/Producers (Julian Napolitano and Darren Pearce) have released massive hits such as 'London Town', 'Oriental' and the classic '9 Ways' and with this project, they do it again. The Cesar Del Rio remix is a moody and atmospheric percussive track with a thick vocal loop applied intermittently. A very smoothly produced track, with filthy snare drum breaks over the heavy bassline, and a dirty warped synth that resonates in and out of the track, it is a very sexy piece of music and a guaranteed dancefloor hit. The Leuroj remix is equally as absorbing, essentially a fast dub track with a strong bassline and a reoccurring sinister vocal loop. Once again a track that will move any dance floor though also one which is bound to mess with your head. The original 'Punk Or Funk' has been picked up for Wipe Out.

The Moon
"Shake It"

Released 13.1.03
Cat No.0479PNUK

CJ Bolland is a legend. Tracks like 'The Prophet' and 'Sugar Is Sweeter' are still played today. His remix of 'Shake It' sounds totally unique and has dancefloor and DJ appeal. Featuring off the wall drum programming and loads of old skool stabs and a distinctive vocal it has attracted the attention of both Judge Jules and Anne Savage who have played the record on Radio One. Prime Mover supply the UK hard trance remix its full on peak time mayhem and set to feature at the front of the box of all the scenes main protagonists. Off-kilter hard dance thats a breath of fresh air!
