Quad and Coded are back with new artists and a re-surge in profile. Pako & Frederik have signed for a multiple single and album deal. Quad/Coded have recently completed a soundtrack for Electronic Arts for a Playstation 2 title called �Shox� - co-promotional activities include a 100,000 promotional CD, MTV editorial on the label and web marketing aimed at over 10 million users of EA.com and Globalunderground.co.uk. More focus on the deeper side of the Global Underground sound will leave more room for stable mate Quad Communications to run a more open minded musical policy. Evolution � firmly in the limelight after the success of Walking On Fire on Bedrock, are on fine form. Here under their Blue Fish guise, 'Chameleon' reveals their dark and dirty side, following on from the outstanding success of their first two tracks cunningly titled 1 and 3. Featured on the predicted 500,000 selling Electronic Arts computer game Shox!

21st Century Fux is: Martin Accorsi, Luke Chable and Austin Leeds. In the spring of 2002, these three top talents were able to set up some studio time together and as a result two impeccable productions emerged. First on the scene was 'Night' which features on the A-side of the vinyl along with an inner cut of DJ tools. Second came 'Thinking Of You', found on the B-side in a full cut. Both tracks are top notch, consisting of BIG warm sounds and a vicious punch. 'Night' made its debut appearance at the SAW.RECORDINGS 2002 Winter Music Conference party as an unsigned demo. It was clear to everyone in attendance that it was a winner. Shortly thereafter 'Night' was signed and paired with its mate 'Thinking Of You'. For years, the members of 21st Century Fux have been making their mark as independent artists, with releases on Bedrock, Musicnow and Yoshitoshi. This has resulted in something truly special that has fortunately found its way to SAW for our twelfth release.

The second release from the M series is this funky and infectious dance floor filler sampling �Tom Tom Clubs� 'Wordy Rappinghood'. Some of you may remember a mysterious white vinyl that surfaced in the summer and caused trouble all over club land and Radio 1. The clever people at Defected and M Records (Defected�s new label project) only used this as a taster, an appetizer so to speak, for what was to come, and what a beauty! The new mixes come courtesy of Sebastien Leger who adds some French tech-funk flavour, Spektral (aka K Klass) provide a tougher workout while Hott 22 (aka Live Elements) take the record deeper with a seriously smooth mix. This is simply irresistible!

A limited run of promos on the Telica label established 'Vellum' as an underground classic, with the likes of Paul van Dyk, John '00' Fleming, Ferry Corsten and Scott Bond all including the track in their play lists. Backed up by a thumping Backbeat remix, this track is once again stealing the limelight. It features on numerous best selling compilations, including Gatecrasher, White Label Euphoria and Hands To Heaven, as well as Radio 1 plays from Dave Pearce and DJ support ranging from Graham Gold and Trevor Reilly "awesome tune � 10/10", through to the harder edged Nick Sentience and Steve Thomas "fantastic - one of my favourite tunes this year". Chemistry are made up of two producers who over the last two years have remixed the likes of Dumond vs Lange, Fragma and Marc Et Claude for their native German territory. Here they deliver some stadium trance with a massive vocal hook, proper bassline and a riff that legends are made of. Nebula is responsible for big chart crossover dance tracks from the likes of DJ Tiësto and 4 Strings. The label has a strong fan base and now a good retail presence from a Top 15, two Top 20 and two Top 40 hits this year. Josh Gabriel (aka Gabriel & Dresden) is based in San Francisco. 'Wave 3' is Josh�s first solo single for Nebula. Already massive in its original mixes from Miami WMC and early support from Pete Tong, the OMD 'So In Love' keyboard samples are finally cleared and new mixes from Charlie May breath new life into this huge record. Charlie May is one half of Spooky and also responsible for engineering much of Sasha�s album. Buzz Chart no. 9.

�Missing You� is a huge driving, tech-tribal bomb, laced with evil grinding bass, percussion led beats, wailing synth lines and an eerie vocal to scare the shit of you. Flip it for the dub mix, a deeper darker interpretation of the original and then onto B2 for Swain & Snell�s reinterpretation where all hell breaks loose with one of their trademark tribal beasts. Kevin Swain & David Snell have been producing and remixing house music under a host of different guises for the past number of years. Their work has received constant support from a huge range of DJs, including Danny Howells, Sasha, Digweed, Pappa and Jimmy Van M, their trademark sound can be spotted a mile away. Fantastically produced bass heavy tribal grooves are the order of the day, adopting deep, grinding elements with bang up to date synth and string arrangements, to create a unique inimitable sound.

Hollis P Monroe is based in Philadelphia and has built a name for himself as a top �deep house� producer. Some of his productions include the sublime �West Of Athens� as Universal Agents with G-Pal and his remix of Aaron Carl�s �My House� both out on Josh Wink�s Ovum imprint. Hollis� most popular production, �I�m Lonely� on Stickmen Records was a huge worldwide club hit. His latest installment, �Dance The Night Away�, is already taking Ibiza by storm with DJs literally begging for copies left, right and centre. Rarer that hen�s teeth, �Dance The Night Away�, has been setting dancefloors on fire from Space to DC10 and from Privilege to Pacha thanks to a few copies that made it to the all the right tastemakers. It features the vocals of Paris Grey from the 1987 all-time house classic, �Big Fun� by Kevin Saunderson�s Inner City, and it is set to be this year�s definitive Ibiza anthem. Watch this space�Hot-on-the-heels of �Well Strung� and �Warp� on Loaded, hot Australian producer 16th Element provides two slammin� remixes. The �16th Element Remix� uses the infectious horn hook to devastating effect topped off with his trademark solid percussive beats and overlayed with Paris� vocals sending shivers down your spine. The �16th Element Dub� is a techier, slightly darker affair with less vocal and a dirty �get down and dance� groove. Next up, Jaded Hombres� mix is on a disco tip, a little funkier and more percussive than the 16th Element mix. Jaded Hombres are none other than talented producer Ewan MacNeil and prolific sound engineer James Doman. Ewan is known as Def-E with productions on Peace Division�s Low Pressings label and is also one half of Absolute Beginners whose �Reckless Girl� tune took Miami by storm and managed to cross over into the mainstream. James Doman is best known for his engineering duties with Steve Lawler. Last but not least we�ve got the �Original Mix� by Hollis P Monroe. This mix is the one that grabbed the attention of the 3-5-2 Recordings A&R team with its jackin� Chicago beats and infectious disco hooks � a proper crowd pleaser.

Jolly Music are Italian duo Mario Pierro and Francesco de Bellis who first worked together on a radio show called �Around The World In 33rpm� where they mashed up records from all genres. This led them to working together in the studio and creating their Jolly Bar album. Talco Uno originally started life as an instrumental but now includes the vocal talents of Erland from Kings of Convenience. Erland has also recently worked with Royksopp. Illustrious Records is the brainchild of former Positiva head, Kevin Robinson. The label has just celebrated its birthday and has an ever-increasing profile. The label�s vision is to sign and develop artists as opposed to having a production line of one off singles.

The 89th release from Tripoli Trax, one of the pioneering hard house labels. Recent releases include Space Frog's 'Follow Me', Steve Blake's 'Get A Rush' and Phlash! feat Steve Hill's 'Get A Life'. This is the Knuckleheadz� fifth release on Tripoli Trax. Previous releases included the anthems 'Raise Your Hands', 'Up Front' and 'Bezerk'. 'House Rocca' their debut has been included on this package in an updated form. It was Tony De Vit�s tune of 1997 and launched the careers of this formidable duo of Jon Langford and Warren Clarke. The Knuckleheadz have their own label and have remixed for labels ranging from Incredible, Logic and Positiva to Honey Pot, Tidy Trax and Y2K. 'The Freaks' features vocals from Kenny C (vocalist on Sharp Boys and Malcolm Duffy's productions). A funk-fuelled energetic hard houser that proves you don't need hoovers and off-beat basslines to tear up a hard dancefloor!

Simon Noble has been one of the most prolific producers over last couple of years. One half of the acclaimed Breeder, who found constant support for their tracks by Sasha and Digweed, with numerous tracks being included on mix compilations around the world. Having remixed Orbital�s 'Nothing Left' to devastating success, this track was featured on Sasha�s GU CD and received phenomenal support around the world from a host of A list DJs. Originally recording on Rhythm Syndicate, publishing tracks such as 'The Chain' and 'Twilo Thunder', which to put it mildly, changed the sound of progressive house. 'Closing In' comes in 2 mixes: on the A side The Original Mix and on the B a huge epic remix from Powerplant. The original mix is a DJ friendly, bass driven animal: laced with synth washes, trademark 'Breederesque' beats, and the catchiest of hooks.
