Paris & Healey "Under Pressure" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.PFT038
Plastic Fantastic is one of the UKs longest standing, respected and leading independent house labels. Their name, for a long time, has preceded them internationally. Here we have a brand new duo featuring Luis Paris, of Paris & Sharp 'Aphrodite' fame, which was licensed from Plastic Fantastic to the mighty Cream Record label and gained a plethora of world-wide radio plays and compilation licenses. The second half of this duo is Tim Healey, better known as Electric Tease, who has had a multitude of clubland hits on labels such as Automatic and Kamaflage. This new collaboration is one of the hottest new duos to emerge recently and already from the strength of this track they have just completed a remix of the new single from the legendary Fluke, which is to appear on One Little Indian soon. Expect big things from these boys. A twisted mixture of house pulling in influences from pretty much everywhere. The initial club reactions for this have been absolutely HUGE the track being championed by X-Press 2 main man, Rocky.

Mark Norman "Overkill" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.JX701
Mark Norman is fast becoming recognised as the latest in a long line of Dutch production maestros to take the scene by storm, with his early releases on the Jinx and Silver Premium labels having had consistent support from the likes of Marco V and Armin Van Buuren amongst others. This latest release features two contrasting tracks that display his diverse talents. 'Tell Me' is a roof raising, vocal infused trance number with a driving edge, while 'Overkill' is an altogether darker number that features a chilling breakdown sequence and vicious stabs. 'Overkill' is already a firm favourite with DJ Tiësto, and UK support has been quick to follow, with Judge Jules giving the track airplay on Radio 1, Trevor Reilly saying "Love this to death", Galaxy FM's Paul Kershaw giving it "Full support!" and Eddie Halliwell and Andy Farley also firmly on board.

Minilogue "Pixelised" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.VSUAL03
Minilogue, aka Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson, who live and thrive in the city of Malmoe in southern Sweden, are by no means newcomers on the electronic dancemusic scene. They have for 5 years produced and released on most major trance labels under the name Son Kite. Minilogue have been really going from strength to strength over the past year, with a string of fantastic releases on Sog and Baroque and this track is no exception. Similar in feel to their release which still gets huge airplay, 'Deep Emotions', crisp production is yet again order of the day. Epic string fills, oscillating stabs, sweeping FX and an all round driving feel, building consistently into a distorting synth string and back down to Earth for the finish. Guaranteed to work well in the Main Room. Flip it for a remix by old faves of Dave Seaman, Highland, who deliver a sparser, more minimal affair, suitable early to mid-set. After 3 releases for this new label, expect to hear a lot more in the immediate future.

Various "One From The Hardbox" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.VCRCD01
For the last 2 years Vicious Circle has grown into one of the leaders at the harder end of the dance spectrum, with each solid release building on the last. The label has grown in stature and has gained an enviable reputation from both peers and customers from across the globe for there uncompromising approach to their music as they continue to strive for quality and innovation which sets them apart from others in the field. The time is now right to unleash there first offering on the album front One From The Hardbox, and in true Vicious Circle style this is an album that says we wont bow down to the need for commercial anthems to sell 20,000 copies, this is an album from the underground, for the underground and one that is a true reflection of the club scene. So up came 2 of the biggest names on the underground Hard Dance scene, Andy Farley and Paul Glazby. Andy Farley needs no introduction having been King of the Hill and highly respected dj/producer for the last 3 years, playing all the major events worldwide and being responsible for such dance floor classics as Khemical Imbalance and The Killer. Paul Glazby on the other hand is a relative newcomer to the scene, having been DJing now for just over 4 years. In that time he has established himself as arguably one of the finest and most innovative producers to emerge to date through his residencies at Sundissential, Insomniacz and Sinergy and also through his tireless production work for labels such as Tidy Trax, Nukleuz, Tripoli Trax and of course Vicious Circle Recordings. One From The Hardbox is a reflection of the first 2 years of Vicious Circle containing previously released material, forthcoming tracks, tracks licensed in from other labels within the scene and 2 tracks that will only ever be available on this album - Paul Janes remix of the Vicious Circle classic Kick It and Paul Glazbys as yet untitles at the time of going to press. One From The Hardbox is probably the most talked about and eagerly awaited hard dance albums to bereleased this year from a label that has achieved icon status.

Allen & Healey "Head Over Heeels" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.AUTO34
Driving tribal percussion and masterful effects easily distinguish this track from the sometimes anonymous progressions of deep house. Beauty in depth remains a constant theme however, with eerie, eastern strings emanating from the infinite space that Allen & Healey create, while hints of a vocal creep into your consciousness. What does dance music need? Innovation. It arrives at the three-minute mark in the form of a random girl that Tim Electric Tease Healey interviewed at an afterparty in Dallas. If this girl is lovely, shes also twisted. The intensity and conviction of her speech is infectious and the experience she recalls, well It was after Id smoked maybe a dozen times we smoked, I maybe had three hits someone told me to try and levitate, I started spinning backwards head over heels it just felt like I was falling through space. Allen and Healeys dance-floor cut is remixed by Bedrock's YumYum. This mix dissects the vocal to perfection, delivering an evil, disorientating interpretation of this future classic with subtle break-beats and thoughtful percussion. With a top remix, dance musics most twisted vocal and the sublime programming talents of Allen and Healey; Head Over Heels is an essential release for followers of deep and twisted house.

Madam F feat. Lisa Millett "I'm Independent" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.SP1
Sin Plomo smash onto the scene with their excellent first release. Written by Jan Harvey AKA Madam F and featuring the amazing vocal talents of Lisa The Queen Diva Millet (ATFC Bad Habit - Defected) this is a truly a massive record. Heavy disco samples, seductive grooves and roof raising riffs make this a priority club record, and possibly more! This is all ready causing a massive stir on a certain Balearic Island and with its three superb mixes to choose from, including a huge Big Ron (Perfecto 48K Label, Spot On, Defected) mix and a top dub from Crunch Bunch, you can see why. Already supported by the likes of CJ Makintosh, Boy George and Norman Jay this looks set to be one of the big funky anthems of summer 2002.

Andy Farley "Your Fear" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.NUKP0452
Nukleuz Blue is the label for hard-house aficionados and here we have the sixth solo release on the label from the most popular hard-house DJ on the planet! Scoring twice in the DJ magazine Top 100 DJs poll, Andy Farley is the man. Resident at Frantic and Sundissential for the last three years, he has the biggest hardcore fanbase of any DJ on that scene. As a producer his work with BK and Paul Janes, the two most popular engineers, has been nothing short of inspired. His five previous outings on Nukleuz have shaped the hard house scene and have consistently reached the top of the charts of all his peers. Your Fear is kick-ass hard house of the highest quality. If the original track is just too banging then theres a tasty hard trance remix from Mark Richardson on the flip. Mark Richardson is Nukleuz Records secret weapon. Since his first ever vinyl outing at the end of 2001 he has ridden the hard trance wave and set himself up as one of the premier producers of the genre. As part of the Nukleuz DJs, he is going to have his first Top 50 this week with his collaboration with hard trance supremo Phil Reynolds.

Cevin Fisher "Somebody" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.SUB83T / SUB83TR
Cevin Fisher has a proven ability to make crossover, credible dance hits and has had chart success with 'The Freaks Come Out' and 'Burning Up'. More recent clubs hits include the Steve Lawler favourites 'Love You Some More' and 'Loving You (When It Comes To)'. Somebody is a big room vocal track using Cevins own vocal talents. A slight departure from his more recent stripped down techy outings, 'Somebody' is sure to be a big club anthem. Cevins haunting vocals coupled with soaring, hypnotic strings and his usual excellence in production make this track a sure fire winner. The Lets Get It Together Dub offers a more minimal driving version of the original but has found big favour with Danny Tenaglia and Steve Lawler. Remixer, New Yorks Peter Presta has worked with all the big names and is best known for his work with Roc & Kato over the years. Here he provides a more bouncy, up-tempo summer US house groove, whilst UK upstarts and fast rising stars I-Jack provide a tough UK dub. A package with something for everyone.

Tom Mangan "Chutney" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.BED36
Tom Mangan describes Chutney as 'punky house': and it's all that and a whole lot more... Tom will be familiar to some as one half of the production duo that came up with the acclaimed 'Cerebral Noodles' EP on Fire Recordings alongside studio partner Cass. Here though, Tom goes it alone (aside from the assistance of Nick Muir with the re-edit) and produces what looks set to be one of the real peak time, floor-filling cuts of the summer. With this and more work with Fire marking the dawn of a magnificent production career, the prospect of his forthcoming debut album means we are unlikely to have heard the last of Tom Mangan...After kicking up a storm in Miami in the hands of a select few, 'Chutney' goes on to reaffirm its huge party status in Ibiza this summer. Redited by Nick Muir who was struck by the warping sound treatments, punky house-sound and a breakdown that's right off the map, the trademark Bedrock big low end was added and the track was picked up by the keen ears of John Digweed, stolen from the record box of Timo Maas the second it was off the decks and thrashed in Space by Carl Cox. 'Chutney' reinjects a fresh, punky energy onto the dancefloor and this, combined with Josh Wink's 'Size 9 Reinterpretation' on the flip, make this an essential 12" for anybody interested in seeing the party go off! Josh Wink produces a startling tech injected B-side to form a perfect partner to the original mix. The 'Size 9 Re-Interpretation' loses nothing of the punky, funky feel of the original and intensifies the top and bottom ends to make a track not for the faint hearted. The whole thing builds, matching the raw, throbbing intensity of the originals collosal breakdown, but as the whole thing rushes from speaker to speaker it's a dizzying experience and one best felt at the centre of a dance floor.

The original version is produced by DJ Pippi, resident DJ of the original Pacha, as well producer of the mega hit 'I Luv You Baby', co-produced with Italy's Beat Access. The track is already making a big noise on the white island of Ibiza and the Chus & Ceballos mix speaks for itself. Tribal madness with a deeper version on the flip.

Purpose & Tristan Voice "Your Voice Is You" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.BUILT007
Darren Doyle, owner of Purpose Recordings, has paired up with Tristan Voice to produce his first single on his label. This is the follow up to the successful remix he undertook for Tony Thomass Living it on Purpose No.2. Darren has released many solo tracks over the last few years including Flat Back Four Song #3 (Blur booty) and (many years ago) Mr. Ballistic on Diffusion Records. The one that was notably the largest was the release as Tungsten on Future Groove (in John Digweed's top 10 for that year.) Built007 now sees Darren record under his label moniker Porpoise;'My Voice Is You' is a rockin techy stomper, which has a harder edge to it than any of his previous releases, but still contains that 3am head down grungy feel. 'Boom For Miles' has a slightly lighter feel to it while still retaining a very trippy early morning taste.

Sugarfix "Give Me More" Released 23.9.02 Cat No.HUSSY010-1
'Give Me More' is the first release by Australia's Sugarfix to come out on Hussle Recordings. Sugarfix is a collaboration between Sydney DJ (Sugar) Ray Good and Infusion member Frank Xavier. Infusion's recent releases on Thunk Recordings and Marine Parade have received wide acclaim. The original mix is a driving tribal house record with a twisted New York-esque dirty vibe. The Poxy Music Remix is a collaboration between Pocket (of Thunk Recordings) and Sydney DJ Ken Cloud. This mix, while still on the twisted, tribal vibe, has more funk and shuffle to it and is a little deeper in style. Perfect for cooler dancefloors and sure to be big with Tenaglia, Digweed et al.
