Details to follow

Neol Sanger "Dissident" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.MNR041
Noel returns with another high calibre track that follows up where Breathe left off. A deep progressive floor mover with just the right touch of tribal elements and lush pads for that euphoric impact. This release displays the growing strength of Noels excellent productions and explains why he is being talked about by everyone from Paul Oakenfold to Saeed & Palash. Stryke (Substance / Hooj) takes up the remix honors and rips it up with an insane tribal techno mix that shows why hes a favourite of Carl Cox. Top stuff thats not to be missed!

Chill Factor "Crowd Breezer" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.ALTY002
Fantastic hard trance track: powerful yet soulful, accompanied by a great bassline. Big string and synth sounds make this one a dancefloor killer, with the crowd going wild whenever it is played.

Smurref "Check My Bass" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.FT011
This track is a follow up to Smurref's previous release on Fevah Trance, 'The New Beginning' which was at the time ahead of everything. Now everything has caught up and this boy is on fire, still producing a style of trance original to itself and evolving with every release. The A side drives with a very German style kick and bass line through to the main break when everything goes haywire, and it steams off into a huge euphoric riff. The remix is a pure Glazby stormer: hard, punching and driving ,a real throbbing anthem. Following the recent success of 'Total Supremacy' and 'Broken Boundaries', Fevah continue their good run of form with 'Check My Bass' by Smurref. The pace is frenetic from the off, as a rolling bassline and sparse stabs instantly create an energetic groove. Stinging synths are unleashed during the breakdown and are carefully moulded to create a driving trance anthem topped off with catchy vocals to ensure a hands in the air response wherever played. Evidently a busy man in the studio at present, Paul Glazby delivers yet another remix, and on this occasion he is in uncompromising mood, stripping back the riffs from the original for a no nonsense foot to the floor belter. 5/5 DJ Magazine (Issue 315)

Oscar De Rivera vs Circus Night "Me Sala" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.SP006
Oscar de Rivera is one of the top Spanish DJs and has been playing for 15 years. He is resident of the famous KU in Beniform and this is his 2nd 12" (first was with Chus on the US label Uncle P, called 'Free my Soul'). Circus Night are owners of the Boncho music label and produced Amazonia for Stereo productions. A total Iberican twisted production.
|
Ben Camp "Timewreck" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.FD022
Fade Records' Ben Camp is a 20 year old college student from Baltimore. Ben is a quick learner in the studio and it is evident here with this, his first production. He has more tracks coming out on Inversus and Stellar later in the year. Ben has a bright future as he is not easily influenced by the easy road. Look for him to make more noise as he gets older. 'Timewreck' in its original form really devastated dancefloors. Mara (Choo Choo, Yoshitoshi) have been enlisted for the remix and Mr. Barry Gilbey delivers a more futuristic sound then any other Mara production. It is relentless in the groove and attack. Already featured on Chris Fortiers Bedrock compilation both mixes. The original has a dark and hard feel the breaks down to the bassline and then crashes back in with all systems activate.
|
John Ciafone "Thinking Of You" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.BRG042
John Ciafone is famous as one half of the legendary Mood II Swing, the people behind Ultra Nates massive Free and countless club records on the likes of Strictly Rhythm. A modern day genius! Thunder is what can only be described as a piece of quality house music already gaining props from the house mafia. It is backed by the beautiful Thinking Of You which is featured on the forthcoming (more news soon) Junior Compilation, and a downright dirty dub. Quality jackin house music all night long!
|
Guyver "Serious Sound" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.TIDYTWO107 / TIDYTWO107CD
Guyver, in case you didnt know by now, is Guy Mearns from the now acclaimed Riot Bros. Serious Sound is arguably one of the best hard trance tracks this year and has already received support off acetate from the likes of the Tidy Boys, Lee Haslam & Eddie Halliwell and on Radio One from Dave Pearce. Its catchy riff and solid production makes this track stand out way ahead of any others at the moment. On the flip we have 'Youll Know It', which is equally as devastating but is more on the melodic tip. All in all this release surely confirms that Guy Mearns is one of the hottest new properties of today.

Madoka "If We Begin" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.DEEP008
Dutch DJ booker Peter van Hals excellent label comes up trumps once more with this amazing summery vocal gem. Previous releases have featured Allen & Healey as well as Lemon 8 and have featured on some of the globes biggest compilation albums such as Godskitchen and Gatecrasher. Some songs are a bit special, even for label owners. Take DEEP008 for example. At the time when Mark Venneri (Madoka) made this for DEEP, we were just thinking out loud in the office that Madoka had all the right talents to come up with something special. This was before his superb Mass came out and before we had listened to any songs other than Cabaret, Slightly Forward and Dive. Then this piece of craftsmanship landed on our desk and we knew that he would brighten us up with great songs! If We Begin is based around the haunting vocal of Bari Koral from NY. Watch out for this talented singer/songwriter from the States as there are some stunning songs on the way on various labels. The original mix of If We Begin is a melancholy and minimalistic house track with a great simple drum pattern and a well balanced feel to it. Mark has worked around Bari Korals vocals in a suberb style that gives the whole track a nice laid-back feel. Certainly one for the terrace at Space! His Anything Forever mix on the flip side takes things a bit more to a deeper level for that time a night when things get a little more nasty. Mark Venneri is currently he working on a remix for Greed feat Lesley Strange World.

They have also remixed Celedas Let The Music Use You Up on Global Harmony which is currently riding in the top 10 of both the Buzz and Cool Cuts charts.Over the last 12 months the Filtered Funk series has built up a loyal following amongst fun-loving house DJs. 110% party house with big vocal hooks, funky basslines and sick twisted disco hits! Catering for the gap between disco and hard house, this 130bpm material has found fans in some unsuspecting places

Solomonic Sounds "Children Of Israel" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.SHAB051
The skanking reggae house of Children of Israel had a huge impact on the underground house scene when it was released on Shaboom Records early in the spring of 2001. It was consolidated with a 4 star review from Phil Cheeseman in DJ mag, touting it as a new direction for house music. Mixes come courtesy of Shaboom Records very own heavyweights BLAKDOKTOR and DEL 5. The first was recorded early last year when Doc Martin took up residence at the Mark Bell guest house in his favourite northern resort .....Blackpool. They turned in this deep house monster which twists and turns around a throbbing bass line and dub-tinged pads with sparse effected use of the vocal, perfect for that 5 AM Jamaican dance floor moment! Their instrumental dub on B1 takes things slightly deeper using all the same elements. Del 5 (DJs Ben Davis and Dick Johnson) continue to reinforce their reputation as one of the most exciting new production teams rocking it in the UK at the moment. In 2001 they remixed New Zealands biggest artist, Chez Fu for Sony and had Paperecordings biggest selling release with their remix of Resets Runaway Love which was licensed by Danny Howells for his Renaissance mix and championed by King Unique and Tyrant. Their mix of Children of Israel departs from their usual sound and pushes the envelope a little further, resting on break beats and a phat new bass line, smoking vocals into the middle of last week and is already a favourite with Mr scruff and DJ Onionz. A top new remix package that will blow up the clubs, from Fabric to Keep It Unreal and all the points in between.

Starfire "USS" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.FRK013
Freakaboom is a London-based Breaks label that, over the past 3 years, has grown to become one of the most respected and consistently cutting edge imprints in this rapidly growing scene. As well as releasing formative tracks for heavyweights like Koma + Bones, 2Sinners and Phantom Beats, it has also made it a priority to discover a flow of new, previously unsigned artists many of whom, like Kraymon, Databass and Switchshift, have gone on to become some of the most hopeful talents in Breaks. The label has also become one of the only truly international Breaks labels with signings from artists based in the US, Europe, Australia and the UK.Hot on the heels of the debut compilation release (Boomtronics) for Freakaboom comes the debut 12" release for yet another new Breaks signing. Starfire is Texas-based producer Zack Bright and these two amazing productions are, believe it or not, from his first ever breaks demo. With a list of influences that span from technical Breaks wizards like BT and Hybrid through to Lo-Fi Hip Hop acts like Pharcyde to West Coast Chill Out master Jonah Sharpe - and further still, to modern classical composers like Alexander Hohvaness - you can guess that this guy is no slouch when it comes to production. Surprising then to find that these two tracks were written and produced on a very minimal rig - most of which was borrowed from friends. Still, it's not all about chin-stroking production values as there's enough solid beats, breaks and bass here to back up the melody and mood! Deep, atmospheric builds work their way to harder dance floor beats with plenty of twists and edits to keep the floor excited and the DJs happy. Two tough progressive breaks tunes with a BT / Hybrid influence but with enough weight and excitement to keep it warm down on the floor.

Darren Styles & Mark Breeze present Infextious "Let Me Fly" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.NUKP0432
Nukleuz Records was the number one 12 selling label in 2001 and aims to be the number one 12 selling label for 2002. Nukleuz Green is the label for uplifting trance aficionados. Darren Styles and Mark Breeze are legends from the underground, having DJ-ed for 10 years. Darren was part of Force and Styles happy hardcore dream team that toured the world and played all the big events across the globe. The duo even featured on the Radio 1 Essential Mix and they were the only happy hardcore producers to be on Radio 1. Mark Breeze is from the same scene and is another legend that has seen and done everything twice over. Darren and Mark have over 100 productions under their belts, many of which have appeared on the hugely successful Bonkers compilations and on worldwide happy hardcore compilations. Lately the boys have slowed down their beats and produced some excellent remixes for Nukleuz including Taiko Silence, Project 101 Drifting, and Vinylgroover & Red Hed Everlasting, and they also wrote the successful Black Magic track and are set to remix the Matt Darey single released in September. Here the duo present their alter ego, Infextious, and boy what a release they have made: riff-based summer trance with a monster vocal hook on one side and euphoric summertime trance with a massive hook and a harder edge on the other. Absolutely storming, anthemic, full vocal trance, the track is featured on the Top 5 MOS compilation, Addicted to Trance, which has sold over 20000 copies. Both mixes are amazing and suit the crossover DJs who play at venues ranging from Slinky to the Ritzy clubs.

While Undercurrent were at the forefront of the Prog house scene last year, this year has seen the label move towards a more mainstream dancefloor house sound. Last year Undercurrent released tracks by Chab, Thomas Heckman, Nato and Laszlo Paneflex, amoungst others. Unknown "Sun Over Miami" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.VENUS1
Jon Novacane returns with some more euphoric uplifting trance that is now beginning to come back to the fore once more. X-Rated "Everybody Move" Released 19.8.02 Cat No.THM046
X-Rated, a new signing to Thumpers, debuts on this 3-track EP. His tracks virtually breathe energy and Im sure hell be a name to keep an eye on. First up on this extraordinarily good EP, Everybody Move is a track to whet anyones appetite. It revolves around a brilliant middle riff which almost sounds hollow given the quality of the production. The vocal speaks for itself and as for the build, youll just have to gyrate to this one whatever genre youre in to. Time 2 Rok exhibits a craziness about it that has been perfected by X-Rated. The zany stabs will truly send you mad in any club and if it wasnt for the kick and bass line to keep you on your feet It would have a government health warning. This track is great because it kinda leaves you feeling aurally abused without knowing really why. Keep Movin is a more minimal track that ticks along with some lovely reversed samples and the odd girly off-beat yelp. The break is fairly low-key, but dont let this put you off since it is the vibe of this track that is its essence and Im sure it will be a vibe resounding around most clubs graced by Thumper-loving DJs.
