Eric Davenport "Twenty 12" Released 12.8.02 Cat No.JMK003
Eric Davenport is a producer / DJ from Long Beach, California who has released EPs for DoubleDown, In Tha Mix, Dulce, and Red Menace. Besides his original material, Eric has remixed for artists such as Roy Davis Jr., DJ Dan, and Gus Gus just to name a few. Twenty Twelve (known to his mother as Nick Rapattoni) is also from Southern California and has had releases on labels such as Red Menace, Twitch, and Life Music The Original mix is a solid, dancefloor burner, that soulfully moves thru spirals of mind-blowing filtered riddims and perfectly placed vocal stabs. The addition of funky guitars and live Rhodes keys sets this EP apart from many. Distinctive peak time gear to be played during the height of a set. The Comfort Zone Mix is definitely a mad dancefloor freaker and a must-have for any tech-house DJ. Tight percussion, wicked phat bassline, added with the seriously INTENSE filtered key and guitar riddims make this mix one of those trax that make you lose all sense of what is going on around you except for the mind-controlling, droning funk effect this mix offers. As phat as the original and just as rockin, this version is also peak time material. The Nice n Easy Dubwize mix is a more simplified affair. A deep funky tribal-tech groove chugs strongly with snippets of dubbed-out vocal & synth stabs. Perfect for a more chilled, late-nite affair. The HATIRAS remix is a deep, FUNKY, tribal groove-chugger with positively nice-and-soothing key riddims, solid breakdowns / buildups, and excellent use of the bassline as well as the fender Rhodes key lines.

Jez & Charlie "It's About Music" Released 12.8.02 Cat No.TIDY174T
Jez and Charlie have been signed to Tidy Management for over a year now and within that time have established themselves as DJs to watch for the future. They are of course, residents at Sundissential North in Leeds and have already had a number of releases on Vacuum and Sundissential Records. Their first release on Tidy is 'It's About Music' which, judging by early reactions from plays of the CD, is by far the best track they have ever done, obtaining noticeable support from Anne Savage in Ministry magazine (June issue) who put it at number 2 in her Top 5 of the Month. The Tidy Boys have also offered their support and have been quoted as saying that this is "one of the top 5 tunes of the year so far." The original has a very 'techy' feel with quirky percussion and sketchy vocal leading to the breakdown. This is where the fun starts with the introduction of the main vocal, before the awesome riff comes in and does the damage! Its a no-messing track that has all the right ingredients to become another Tidy anthem and at the same time establish Jez and Charlie as rising stars on the circuit. On the remix front we have the Stimulant DJs who, to be fair to them, have had a well earned break, spending a lot of time in Australia and the USA. The guys dont hold back and deliver a complimentary remix, which will leave all the Stimulant DJ fans amongst you smiling.

Deep Funk Project "Blackwitch" Released 12.8.02 Cat No.ZOT12015
This is the latest release from Melbourne production duo Gab Olivier and Ivan Gough. You may have caught their last track, the sublime double A-side on ZT from last year - '2 Heavy / Dirty Logic, which earned props from all who checked it and found its way onto numerous compilations. In these days of prog-by-numbers and re-hashed loops, its refreshingly different and subtle sounds will no doubt earn it a spin or two around the globe. "A lot of people talk about dark music these days, and a lot of people claim that they produce or play dark music. But after listening to Zero Tolerance Records from Australia everything else sounds like commercial happy pop fodder. You cant go any druggier, darker or deeper underground than this: low bass-lines, loads of reverbs and echoes, backwards satanic-sounding vocals. It makes you wonder what kind of dope theyre on over there. On both tracks the production is ace, the mix close to perfect and, despite the overall scary atmosphere, they even manage to keep it funky. The guys are never in a hurry: at 7 minutes there are still new sounds fading into the mix. And in Blackphunk for example, the first hi-hat starts at around 4 minutes, but there are enough subtle effects in the background to keep it interesting all the way." - FREDERIK PAKO & FREDERIK (MAJESTIC RECORDS)

The Phat Controller "Dizzy" Released 12.8.02 Cat No.VACLTD02
As before, there will only be 1000 copies of this limited release, so grab them while you can! The Phat Controller kicks things off in typically bouncy fashion. All the trademark elements are here the crisp hi-hats, the tough kick drum, the rumbling bassline, the cheeky vocal sample and a seriously funky lead riff. It all comes together for the ultimate party tune this will send the crowd dizzy. Avis Van Rental finishes off the package with a slightly more serious track but still with that party vibe. The rolling bassline takes center stage from the outset and is joined by the vocal and cool fx before a warped lead riff is introduced. The break builds and builds to a thunderous climax that bursts out of the speakers. Another limited edition not to be missed.
