Released 10.06.02
Cat No.RIB058

The Captain is at the helm once again for his first solo double sided release for over a year. Having just palyed to 20,000 at the Qlimax event in Holland, the Dutch influence has infiltrated Tinrib once more. On the A side is 'Eminority': filtered drums and saucy shaker action drop to a massive deep driving bass under soaring trance chords that are guaranteed to lift any dancefloor. On the flip, 'Do you DJ' has a great techno groove that launches itself into a full on club track with a massive bouncy riff. The Captains sense of humour is back in full effect! With vocals from The Captain, his Missus & Maxxy Lightweight, the moral of this tale is never do an interview at Tinrib Studios cos you might well end up the star of a track!

DJ Bismark
"E.R.K."

Released 5.06.02
Cat No.BXRP0419

DJ Bismark has a long track record of storming productions on BXR records. His previous releases, Primitive Love, 'Make a Dream and Just a Moment have been supported by the whos who of A-list DJs, both here and across the globe, on radio and in the clubs. This time around, our man injects some hyper-funk into his tough and percussive techno workout and its set to do the damage on the dance festival circuit with all the heavyweights. This is the festival anthem of 2002.

Simon Eve
"Serious Soundz"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.12CHARGE010

One of the busiest producers in the scene, Dynamic Intervention appeared on the very first Recharge release over a year ago with 'Where Are You?', his collaboration with Paul Glazby. On this occasion, Insomniacz and Tinrib/Superfish! resident DJ Simon Eve teams up with him, and the result is 'Serious Soundz', a driving yet funky number that hits top gear once rampaging synths are unleashed during a devastating breakdown that has been sending dancefloors wild. To compliment the Original mix theyve enlisted the services of the legendary Billy 'Daniel' Bunter & Jon Doe. The duo have been responsible for numerous club favourites on the Honey Pot and UK Hard labels over the years, and once again they deliver the goods, adding a hard trance slant to 'Serious Soundz' in what is without doubt one of their finest works to date.

Evolution
"Walkin' On Fire"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.BED33 / BED33R

12 Pete Tong Radio One plays and Essential Tune to watch for in 2002! From a limited Fluid Recordings test press run, Bedrock head honcho John Digweed signed the hypnotic new 'Walking On Fire' from Evolution featuring Jayn Hanna. John Digweed went on to show his commitment to the track by playing the tune twice in one night at New Yorks Twilo club, a notable rarity. The first 12" includes the haunting anthemic original and the massive Bedrock (Digweed / Muir) Dub on the flip. Already kicking up a storm in the dance world with a huge percussive kick, this is a beat driven cut designed to take the night off. The second 12" features the vocal mixes, kicking off with the hypnotic new house mix from The Beloved with the Bedrock Vocal on the B-side. The huge hook and intensity of Evolution's original mix deserved a strong remix selection and got more than it bargained form in the form of Bedrock and Beloved recuts.

The acappella however, (featuring the famous please do not be alarmed remain calm speech), took on a life of its own being used by DJs across all genres including one Erick Morrillo, who would famously use it to announce his arrival on the decks. Never before released in the UK and arriving at the same time are the King Unique remixes. King Unique have taken Moonraker and turned into an absolute monster of a mix take one classic vocal and a classic King Unique breakdown and watch a dancefloor be destroyed!

Paul Glazby
"I'm Your Nightmare"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.TIDY172T

"The self-professed 'hardest man in hard house' is also one of the nicest, and his ironically titled Tidy debut lives up to his claim. Galloping along with carefree abandon, 'IYN' has an insistent Lab 4-esque riff that takes no prisoners. Still banging enough for the fans, but with a tough house edge, flipside 'Funky Regulator' is about as mellow as this man gets."

Muzik Mag

The eerie trance riff was a surprise, but if your expecting a gatecrasher special don't! This dark little number from the king of the tough beats will get those shivers going and those feet moving.8/10

Ministry

"The UK's most prolific hard house producer, turns up the power for another crackling floor filler, essential for your box."

Graham Gold
"High Lady"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.GA034

Paul Mendez (Beat 106): "This is in my opinion Graham's best release to date and what a corker it is. The sweeping bassline grabs your attention from the start and doesn't let you go. This is working on my radio show on Beat 106 and is certainly working on my floors in Ratt and Beyond."

Nick Lunn & Paul Janes
"Conspiracy"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.NUKP0414

Nick Lunn is the promoter and resident DJ at Storm, one of the most successful hard dance events in the UK. Paul Janes is the producer of some of the most popular hard dance records of all time (on Tidy Trax, Tripoli and of course Nukleuz itself). Together they have written Conspiracy, a storming peak-time German-style anthem thats set to smash hard house and trance clubs around the world. The track was exclusively introduced to clubland via an end of show play by Fergie on Judge Jules radio one show and is now being rinsed by all and sundry at the nations biggest raves. On the flip, young producer JK Theory gets his chance to shine after producing and remixing for cult trance label Redemption records. Both mixes are in the German hard dance style that is sweeping the nation as a cooler alterative to the UK hard house sound. Hard grooves meets turbo-charged melodies in a production style that suits trance, techno and hard house DJs alike.

Various
"Counteraction 2"

Released 10.06.02
Cat No.UTCCD009 / UTCLP009

Since its inception in September 1998, Under The Counter has made a name for itself supplying tough, uncompromising dancefloor action for DJs and club-heads the world over. Building his house around established disco deviants like Sandy Rivera, Omid 16b and DJ Q, label owner Marc McCabe has also pushed new talent introduced the crazy Swedish Wackdaddies and Californian Funkateers Natural Rhythm. Along the way the Glasgow-based imprint has issued near on 40 singles and 8 albums. It can count amongst its fans DJs like Ralph Lawson, Romanthony, Harry Choo-Choo Romero, Slam, Silicone Soul, Danny Howells . Counteraction Volume Two kicks off with the smooth afro-house of Eddie Matos Afreeka, a warm-up/wind-down cooler packer with organic percussion, bumpy bass and funky horn stabs. The journey takes in Jazz it (the Body & Soul styled cut that Kings of Tomorrow mainman Sandy Rivera recorded with fellow Bronx boy Jose Burgos) as well as Chicago hot-jock Joshuas jerky reworking of Natural Rhythms 4U before arriving at one of UTCs true classics. Like Jazz It, Its Alright is another cut, to be taken from the Rivera/Burgos album The Calling. Coming across like a millennial Follow Me by Aly-us, this soul-stirring male vocal anthem is one of house musics undiscovered gems. From there, McCabe takes the mix up a notch adding in tougher cuts and remixes from George T, Powder Productions, and The Wackdaddies. This is when the drunken dancing shenanigans begin as that special UTC blend of stolen funk and disco chic works its alcohol-like magic. By the time the tech-edged floor fillers from DJ Q, 16b and Cpens Dr. Sparkle alias arrive the party is in full foot-stomping flow. File this killer long-player on the other side of the room from the lounge section!
