Alan Pullen "1, 2, 3, Kick It'" Released 20.05.02 Cat No.BABYDOLL004
"Propelled by a bassline that swallows the room, 1,2,3, Kick It sucks you in with an infectious vocal loop and frisky stabs, easing in emotive strings that soar in its lengthy and gargantuan centrepiece, before climaxing in walls of throbbing, string-soaked bliss. Forget the cold shower, because one twist of the wrist later and Ilogiks Elasticman Records Remix is banging away harder and faster." So says Muzik Magazine about the storming second single from Alan Pullen on Baby Doll Records, the follow-up to his huge club anthems Go Insane and Whiplash. Alan Pullen is one of Irelands busiest DJs, an affable tastemaker with his finger firmly on the pulse. 1,2,3, Kick It is set to bolster his growing international reputation: its a full-on epic with a gargantuan breakdown thats been caned by the lucky few with acetates. The remix comes from man-of-the-moment Ilogik, currently on fine form with a string of smashes on his Elasticman and Ilogikal Breaks labels, not to mention others like Vicious Circle. His excellent 1,2,3 remix is respectful to the original, and features an equally monstrous breakdown.

Sabre "High Tide'" Released 20.05.02 Cat No.DEST05

Its a moody, dark affair that has all the qualities of what is currently lacking in the scene. The production is faultless and it just oozes quality. Great support on Radio 1 from Fontaine and on Kiss by Tall Paul and is currently being played on word tours by Fortier, Pearce and Manston. This is music for the masses.

Vinylcoup "Bang Goes The Drum" Released 20.05.02 Cat No.THM042
Following up on the success of their last release, Vinylcoup have created a unique E.P to further confirm their rising status as producers of new ideas within the hard house genre. The A side Bang Goes the Drum is a stomping track with a dirty, rude bassline that contradicts itself with its bouncy riff. This track is different from most in that it appears at first to be quite dark but emerges as an uplifting track full of energy. Clever little fills have been delicately sprinkled all over to create this ear-sweetner. The AA side Ladies and Gentleman is sure to appeal to the masses. Its big-room build-up is not only highly imaginitive but retains the feel-good factor now expected from these Londoners in every release. It has a cheeky vocal that will put a smile to everyones face and is guaranteed to wind any party up to an excitable frenzy. With the killjoy pundits continually claiming that hard house is on the way out, Vinylcoup are laughing in their faces with this release and its extremely difficult not to laugh with them.
