Balloon "Technorocker" Released 13.05.02 Cat No.Y2KLTD007
The first mix is the original licenced mix from abroad that surfaced last year and destroyed the likes of Dance Valley, Impulz and HQ largely thanks to Yoji Biomenhanaka. The hot remix has been kept top secret, so secret that the person who has done it cannot be named, but rest assured the artist is huge! It keeps all the original flavour but makes for a more dancefloor friendly tune by throwing in a few twists and turns along the way. Y2K come up trumps one more and get these while you can as they are strictly limited and after they are gone, thats it.

Weirdo "Horny" Released 13.05.02 Cat No.RIB057
The third and final part of this special album release .A-side, Horny is a luverly bit of trance/hoover action cross over. Dirty synths and filtered chords swell over the light acid, then the Weirdo One changes tack with sparse staccato hoovers and back to the grubby squelchiness of the opening. The AA , Too Deep belts along at an unrelenting pace, banging it out and ripping it up fast & furious for those essential last track of the night dancefloor moments.

The Crystal Method "Tweekend" Released 13.05.02 Cat No.TCM12722
In the four years since The Crystal Method released its debut album, Vegas, the members of the Los Angeles electronic music duo have barely had a moment to come up for air. Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan spent two years on the road, headlining and joining the line-ups of some seriously eclectic tours (Family Values, Community Service, The Electric Highway). They played to everyone from baggy-short wearing kids in Midwestern warehouses to influential fashion designers at a Versace show in Milan, Italy and their music appeared on major motion picture soundtracks (Spawn, South Park, Lost In Space) and video game scores (Nitrous Oxide). Meanwhile, Vegas rapidly became a worldwide best seller.
The group spent most of its time plotting, conceptualizing and recording a new album at the Bomb Shelter -- the studio they built in the two-car garage of their Glendale, California house nearly a decade ago. The result of their efforts is called Tweekend, and it sets out to scramble what everyone thought they knew about The Crystal Method. The bass-fortified, hard-rolling techno concoctions will still get the club kids moving, while the muscular hip-hop beats and fluid funk melodies have been beefed up with an array of loud-and-soft rock dynamics. "This one is definitely a darker, more patient, more sparse album," Jordan says. "It has bite." It's a direction that was only hinted at with blockbuster singles like "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" and "Busy Child." Tweekend takes everything that is great about Vegas and makes it even better.

Shmoo "Sophisticated / Afro Doom" Released 13.05.02 Cat No.BLACK04
As Shmoo, Shmuel, Ilan and Reuven Flaishler showcase the high standards of production currently coming out of Israel with two devastating cuts of real dark, driving intensity. Sophisticated is a dark and twisted number taking its inspiration from the effect of the horror films the brothers watched as kids. Afro Doom, produced close to 'Sophisticated' takes the same mood and brings it closer to earth with a devastating vocal and tribal rhythms. Shmoo (aka the Flash Brothers) have exploded to the forefront of the progressive house scene far beyond their native Israel onto the global scene itself. Israel is rapidly revealing a huge wealth of undiscovered talent in house music and it was not until the release of 'The Day After' / 'Megatron' on Perfecto last year that Shmoo came to prominence. Far from exhibiting sibling rivalry however, their immense passion for production has brought the three brothers to the forefront of the global dance scene with a relentless schedule of remixing and production, including past and forthcoming work with Bedrock and Black records.

Terranova "B-Sides & Remix Sessions" Released 13.05.02 Cat No.COPACD27
The Terranova story begins in Germany in the mideighties, when a young Berliner named Fetisch caught a dose of the American hip hop bug sweeping its way across Europe. He embarked on a journey of discovery to New York city which would lay the foundations for the production outfit Terranova. Fetisch spent the next few years making his name as a DJ in the big apple. A Network of like minded producers soon sprouted up around Fetisch and subsequent trips to London led to the beginning of long lasting friendships with the likes of the Stereo MCs. He hooked up the band with vocalist Cath Coffey, and then produced 'Axis' and 'Motherman' for the MCs. This spirit of collaboration was to become a characteristic feature of Terranovas work in the forthcoming years and this album stands as a testimony to that ethic, featuring appearances by the MCs' very own Cath Coffey (Turn Around, Midnight Melody and Sweet Bitter Love), label mate Rasco (X-files) Trickey (Bombing Bastards), Coco Crebitz (a regular in the collective these days) and Alexander Hacke from krautock supremos Einsturrzebde Neubaten and manual Goettsching. The musical spectrum encompassed by Terranova especially throughout their debut longplayer, and now with the second, truly defies any definition, but it can certainly be said that no German act, bar Kraftwerk, has made its mark internationally in quite such a matter.
