Vance Musgrove "Squelch" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.VR12014
Vance Musgrove is yet another addition to the rapidly expanding roster of new Australian talent. Hailing from Canberra, Vance is yet to break 20 years old and without doubt has an exciting future ahead of him. Spotted on a recent DJ gig by Vapour boss Kasey Taylor, he was quickly signed up and flown down to Melbourne to add the finishing touches to this superb debut single. The A-side original mix is a musical piece that flows incredibly well from start to finish. Gorgeous pads float around some techy-elements making this version perfect for those early set moments. The flip side sees Aussie legends Traveller & Quest turn in a monster. Toughening things up and stripping the original elements down to a minimum they have created a peak-time dancefloor driver that just doesn't let up. This track has been licensed to the Parks & Wilson comp 'Painting on Silence'.

Minologue "Deep Emotions" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.SOG011
Groovy deep and rolling house is what this track is all about as label boss Tobi Wirz has signed Swedish outfit Minilogue after a fierce bidding war with several other UK based labels. The A-side original mix funks along in a semi-tribal way with a thunderous bass-line before dropping into a dirty synth stabbing break. Atmospheric and very classy to say the least. Tobi under his Greed guise has created a more housey remix that sits perfectly on the B side. Licensed to Pako & Frederik's 'Essential Dance' and Max Graham's forthcoming 'Hope Recordings mix CD.

John Whiteman "Annihilation" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.HOTWAX017
John returns after a short break to give you this tasty two-tracker, Annihilation and Dirty Flange. Annihilation is quite possibly Johns best production to date. It builds with phat percussion, a punchy kick drum dropping in some saucy stabs and cut up pieces of the riff before dropping into the bass. It then builds with more percussion and pieces of the riff teasing you all the way to the break. In the breakdown the main riff filters in over the squelchy riff and builds into mayhem and then a nice little drop into the vocal before kicking back in again.

Champion Burns "It's In My Head" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.TIDY171T
'Its in my Head' is the first of many releases that are forthcoming on Tidy Trax and Untidy Trax. The original is what you would expect from the newly crowned kings of funky combining a head mashing swinging bass line, memorable vocal samples and mad quirky off-beat sounds that really give this track some character. On the remix we have the 'Mad Dog' himself Paul Maddox, delivering another quality interpretation. Paul gives the track a bit more of a hard house touch but at the same time he keeps the funky swing that the original has. He uses the vocal to great effect and adds a swinging riff that will be a crowd pleaser on the harder floors.

Dariush "Ira" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.NUKP0420
Arriving from Germany where its currently the hottest piece of plastic around, Dariushs IRA was snapped up by Nukleuz records an hour before Ministry of Sound arrived on the artists doorstep with a suitcase full of money! Having been rinsed by Paul van Dyk, Mark Spoon, Sven Vath and the entire German A-list this is a record that will redefine Nukleuz records. Think punk rock meets Timo Maas or the Chemical Brothers and you're halfway there an ice-cold groove is serenaded by a distorted hook line big enough to catch Moby Dick with loads of raucous shouting thrown in for good measure. Techno legend Pascal F.E.O.S. loved it so much he did his own remix that appears on the flip. This is the festival anthem of 2002!
|
DRP "Invasion" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.TCOM020
This tune is set to be the biggest release to date for the label, having gained anthemic support from all of the biggest jocks in the world. This is good old fashioned euphoric trance, that we have been recently missing. It takes you back to lost summers in Ibiza during the height of the trance heyday and is reminiscent of setting suns at Café Del Mar and of 20,000 clubbers with their hands in the air at Amnesia. Both mixes provide a feeling of total euphoria, something that has been currently lacking in the music scene of late and reminds you that trance never died, its just hibernated for a while. Well now its back to full effect and expect more of it!

DTE is the creation of PiM Aldridge and John Rosheuvel, musicians of the ever-changing world of UK Two Step Garage. Whilst signed to Jon Sexton Management, PiM got involved working and co-producing with his fellow stable mate Alex Reece on genre smash hits such as Pulp Fiction. He then formed the group The Original Playboys with Alex Reece with releases on Gilles Petersons Talkin Loud label, as well as Mo Wax and seminal techno label R&S Records. Minimal Funk "My Definition" Released 7.05.02 Cat No.BRG033
Produced by two mysterious Italian chaps, Minimal Funk's Definition of House first rocketed onto the radar when the rather influential Danny Tenaglia picked the track for his Global Underground mix. A peaktime old skool dancefloor moment with seismic repercussions: there is nowhere to hide when this one drops! For the Junior release, the original of Definition of House was given a re-edit by Matthew Roberts, which has in turn been re-edited by Rocky. Confused? The reaction of the dancefloor needs little explanation. Already licensed to numerous compilations as well as being a cdr special for Jo Mills at Circo Loco/DC10 and X-Press-2 on their global travels this track has all the hallmarks for greatness. It's been Essential New Tune on Pete Tongs show as well as being played 8 times by the man himself and is also being championed by Norman Cook, Pete Heller, Cass and Slide, Clive Henry, Satoshie Tomie, etc.
